INSPIRATIONS AND ARTISTS ARE INVITED TO TAKE PART IN
TWIST OUT CANCER’S INAUGURAL BRUSHES WITH CANCER EXHIBITION AND GALA IN MONTREAL
Applications are due on Friday, November 17, 2017
October 16, 2017, Montreal – Twist Out Cancer, an international non-profit charitable organization that provides psychosocial support to individuals touched by cancer through creative arts programming, announced today that it is now accepting applications from inspirations and artists to take part in its first annual Brushes with Cancer Exhibition and Gala in Montreal. Artists are strategically matched with an inspiration – someone who has been touched by cancer, which includes survivors, previvors, caregivers and supporters. Over a period of six months, selected pairs will connect in person, via Skype, on the phone, or by email to collaborate in creating a unique piece of artwork that is reflective of their journey with cancer. Applications are due on Friday, November 17, 2017.
“I launched Twist Out Cancer five years ago in Chicago and have since brought it to cities around the world. I am so excited to bring it to Montreal, a city I came to love when I lived there for seven years while studying at McGill University,” said Jenna Benn Shersher, the founder and executive director of Twist Out Cancer. “I have seen the impact this program has had on so many people, celebrating someone’s life through a unique piece of artwork created in honor of their journey with cancer.”
