The way I deal with cancer and all the challenges it has presented me is by racing. I was an endurance athlete before I was diagnosed and I was not about to have cancer take that away from me. I really enjoy the long stuff so now I stick to marathons and full Ironman triathlons. I have trained and raced through my 5 neck surgeries, 2 rounds of radiation and 10 brain surgeries. I have always run to raise money to fight cancer and am up to over $131,000. My trademark is that I tape the words "suck it cancer" on the back of my shirt. Racing with those words on my back is my way of giving cancer the middle finger.
